Top 3 Books For Training – With Coach Edward
Priding myself on reading several books a month I have read many texts on the topic of training. The below three are what I recommend to get a fast, simple and broad understanding of physiology, biology and practice of strength training.
Top 3 books for simple and effective training knowledge;
The sports Gene – David Epstein
This book gives a base level of knowledge of what you can expect in training. I find it to be grounding book to present to people the reality of what to expect in their training goals and give a good education on some physiology and biology of the human body in sport performance. ‘TED Talks group’ ranks this book no.1 in the field of fitness. A fascinating read.
The four hour body – Tim Ferris
This book is a very easy read and covers numerous effective methods to optimise your body composition. Although many methods rather alternative, in the process of covering them, this book expels many training myths and common ineffective training methods.
Strength Training Anatomy – Frederic Delavier
My favourite book to recommend those that ask me for a good exercise guide. This best seller book covers very simply the technique of the most common and effective exercises used for strength development in the gym and details the anatomy of the muscles used through impressive illustration. This was the first training book I was ever gifted as a young teenager which I used as a reference religiously.
